Fantasy decisions, with the math in view.

The same process behind our betting brief, applied to daily fantasy and pick’em apps. Compare our estimate with each posted line, find the break-even for the entry, and pass when there is no edge.

Educational software — not a promise of profit. A fantasy entry can lose its whole entry fee, and no result is guaranteed. Adults 21+ only. Availability varies by state, so check the platform. Responsible betting.

Rules differ by state and by platform. Daily fantasy and pick’em products are treated differently from place to place, and those rules can change. Availability varies by state, so check the platform before you play. This page is education only: no live fantasy picks and no results exist yet, and every player, league, app and number in the graphics is invented.

How Willy’s process maps to fantasy

Same discipline, different slip.

A betting line and a fantasy line are both prices. The eight-stage process carries over: collect, project, compare, challenge, decide, size and audit.

01

Estimate first, then compare

Willy builds an independent estimate of a player’s stat from role, matchup, injuries and pace before looking at the posted line. The gap between the two matters more than the story around it.

02

Compare lines across apps

The same stat can be posted at different lines on different apps. We lay them side by side so a half-point gap stands out, then check whether it is stale or reflects news.

03

Implied probability and break-even

Every entry has a break-even hit rate for each pick, set by its payout. We convert the payout into that number so it can be compared with our estimate and with a sportsbook’s no-vig price.

04

Correlation

Picks from the same game often rise and fall together. Correlated picks are treated as one exposure, not several independent chances. Some apps also restrict same-team picks, so read the rules.

05

Bankroll and entry sizing

Entries stay small, fixed and capped as a share of a dedicated bankroll. More picks pay more but are less likely to all hit, so the stake shrinks as the variance grows.

06

Pass when there is no edge

If no line clears the break-even bar after the contrarian review, the decision is pass. Nothing forces a full slip, and an empty slip is a finished decision.

Where people play

Three places, two formats.

Salary-cap DFS ranks your lineup against other entrants. Pick’em pays on whether each pick beats a posted line, at a payout the app sets in advance. Availability varies by state, so check the platform.

Salary-cap DFSContest lobby

DraftKings DFS

Daily fantasy sports. You choose a contest, then draft a lineup of real players who fill the required positions while staying under a fixed salary cap. DraftKings’ help pages describe a $50,000 cap in its classic contests, using fictional salaries that are not real pay. A lineup can be changed until the contest begins.

Also worth knowing
Some contests are free to enter and others charge an entry fee. Each contest lists its own prize structure.
Where our process helps
Whether a player’s salary matches the role we expect, and how correlated players in one lineup move together.
Check before you play
Eligibility, minimum age, fees and prize rules on the contest page. Paid contests are not offered in every state.

Salary-cap DFSLarger brand

FanDuel

FanDuel also runs a sportsbook and casino; this page covers only its fantasy product. The format is similar: pick a contest, draft a lineup under a salary cap, and follow it up a leaderboard. The cap is set per sport and contest.

Also worth knowing
FanDuel lists contest types including large tournaments with set prize pools, head-to-head, 50/50s, multipliers and single-game contests, plus free-to-play pick’ems.
Where our process helps
Contest choice: a head-to-head, a 50/50 and a large tournament reward very different lineups, so the break-even differs.
Check before you play
Availability and minimum age, which differ by state and by product. Read the contest rules and fees in the app.

Pick’emMore or Less

PrizePicks

A pick’em app, not a salary-cap game. The app posts a stat line for a player, for example a points total. You choose More or Less, and combine several picks into one entry. The app asks for picks from at least two different teams. This page covers player stat-line picks only.

Also worth knowing
The payout depends on the entry type and the number of picks, and is shown on the entry screen before you submit. Multipliers are subject to change.
Where our process helps
Comparing the posted line with our estimate and with other apps, then converting the payout into a break-even per pick.
Check before you play
Pick availability varies by state. Read the payout shown for your own entry, because it may differ from any example.

Sources and independence. These descriptions are summarized from each platform’s own public pages and help articles, read on November 1, 2026, and they may change. Win More Wagers is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any platform. Names appear in text only, to describe what each one offers. We state no fees, payouts or state lists here because they change and vary by state.

Sample comparison

One stat, three different lines.

Shopping lines works for fantasy the way it does for betting: a lower line for a More, or a higher line for a Less, is a better price for the same pick.

  1. Spot the gap. Mara Vance’s rebounds are posted at 16.5 on one app and 17.5 on two others.
  2. Ask why. A gap can be news, or it can be a stale number. We check before trusting it.
  3. Check the estimate. Our made-up estimate is 18.4, so a More at 16.5 clears the bar. Theo Lindgren has no gap and no edge, so he is a pass.

The same prop at a fictional sportsbook

A sportsbook price gives a second opinion on the line. Here is how to turn it into a probability. Fictional player, line and book.

Pick’em break-even

How good does each pick need to be?

A payout multiplier hides a probability. If every pick in a 3-pick entry must hit and the entry pays 6×, you need all three to hit about one time in six. Spread across three picks, that is roughly 55% for each.

The math, step by step

Break-even entry hit chance = 1 ÷ 6 = 16.7%
Per pick, if all are equal and independent = 16.7% ^ (1/3) = 55.0%
Compare: a -110 sportsbook price breaks even at 110 ÷ 210 = 52.4%

So a pick that beats a -110 line is not necessarily good enough for this entry. Our process asks whether our estimate clears the bar the payout sets, not whether it looks likely.

Example entry, made-up numbers

Example only

3 picks, all must hit, example payout 6× the entry fee. Each row assumes every pick has the same chance of hitting.

Chance per pickEntry hitsPays back per $1Result per $1
53%14.9%$0.89−10.7%
55.0% (break-even)16.6%$1.00−0.2%
58%19.5%$1.17+17.1%

Read this as an example. Payout tables vary by app, by entry type, by pick count and by state, and they can change. Always use the payout shown on your own entry screen. Some entry types also pay partial amounts when one pick misses, which needs a longer calculation. The math assumes independent picks; correlated picks change it. Our estimates are uncertain and can be wrong, and an entry can lose the whole entry fee.

Responsible play

Entertainment first. Limits always.

21+ and state rules

Our brief is for adults 21 and over. Some platforms allow younger players in some states, but we do not. Daily fantasy and pick’em rules differ by state, and the platform’s own eligibility page is the one to check.

Play with limits

Set an entry budget you can afford to lose before the slate starts. Never chase a loss, and never use money needed for bills. Use any deposit limits or time-outs the platform offers.

Fantasy FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

The format, the math and the limits.

01Is this a fantasy picks service?

No. It is decision-support software: it shows how an estimate compares with a posted line and what the entry needs to break even. There are no live fantasy picks and no results yet, and no outcome is guaranteed.

02Will Willy tell me which players to pick?

Once published, a decision will show the line, our estimate, the break-even and the reason, so you can judge it yourself. Some slates will end in a pass. Willy Walters is a fictional AI persona.

03Why does the break-even matter?

A payout sets how often your picks must hit for the entry to pay back what it costs. If your honest estimate sits below that number, the entry loses money over time even when each pick feels likely.

04Are the example numbers real?

No. The players, league, apps, lines, estimates and payouts on this page are invented to show the format. Real payout tables differ by app, entry type and state, so use the one shown on your own entry screen.

05Are these platforms legal where I live?

It varies by state, and the rules can change. Each platform shows where it is available, so check the platform itself. This page is pending legal review and is not legal advice.

06Are you partnered with DraftKings, FanDuel or PrizePicks?

No. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by them, and no affiliate agreements exist today. If affiliate links are added later they will be clearly marked, and Win More Wagers may earn a commission.

07Is fantasy a reliable way to make money?

No. Entry fees can be lost in full, and a model can be wrong. Treat any entry as entertainment spending you can afford to lose.

08Do different apps list different lines?

Often, yes. A gap can be real, or it can be stale or caused by news. We check before trusting it, and we read each app’s rules on pushes, scratches and voided players.
